Convene by Dan Kosta

2019 Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir

“Welcome Back, Kosta” – Wine Spectator

You may know that prices have soared well above $100 for Kosta Browne over the years. So, finding one of those names attached to a Pinot with a huge break is a dream come true for the fans.

As Robb Report wrote, “the king of Sonoma Pinot Noir has created another outstanding winery. With his recently launched Convene by Dan Kosta, he has shown that lightning can strike twice in the same place.”

Was $62 - buy it now for $31

Long Shadows

2021 'Feather' Columbia Valley Cabernet Sauvignon

“Randy Dunn’s Cabernets represent one of the pinnacles of excellence within the school of structured wines built for aging.” – Vinous

Can it be?! Do my eyes deceive me?

THE Long Shadows! On our very own little corner of the wine web?! We’re SO not worthy!

Skip straight to the checkout and lock this one down STAT! Then come back, brush up, and prepare for an absolute thrill ride when this lands at your feet.

Judd's Hill

2017 Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

JUDD’S HILL!

Not one. Or two. Or three. But FOUR epic scores from this historic producer. This, our final one for the day, is my personal favorite of the bunch.

At around $95-$115 these sit alongside the very best Napa can offer. You would not be sad when this juice hits your lips. Even if you paid full price, plus tax, shipping, and a flight out to Napa to score some from the winery.

However, for under $40 it feels almost criminal to let them into the wild.

Sommras

2022 Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc

Heavenly.

In a word, that describes this elixir.

Very, very few Sauv Blancs wow us. Most are good. Some are very good.

A select few tip into truly great territory.

This is firmly planted as one of the outliers, in the company of other great examples from Eisele/Araujo, Bevan’s Dry Stack, Spottswoode, Morlet, and Mondavi’s I Block. Members of the $100 SB club, that is.

Abbot's Passage

2021 'Tripoint' Sonoma Coast Red

Well Operatives, we have a real winner winner chicken dinner offer for you today! The Agents have been raiding this one with abandon since we checked it in. Do what you can to get your share of this one before we drink it all!

You know the Bundschu family from their historic stewardship of the Gundlach Bundschu Winery property for 6 generations. Yes, we know, hard to say- think “gun” “lock” “bun” “shoe.”

Tolosa

2019 Solomon Hills Vineyard SMV Pinot Noir

“It’s a stunning expression this vintage!” – Wine Advocate

Perhaps that’s because, as Vinous says, “the spare-no-expense policies at Tolosa mean that the wines are never cheap, but they are consistently among the most impressive, often flamboyant Pinot Noirs being made.”

Normally $132… but you know we don’t play those games.

Erba Mountainside Vineyards

2015 Atlas Peak Cabernet Sauvignon

“There’s no way…”

That was Agent Rhône’s response when Noir said he was pretty sure Russell Bevan made this.

It seemed unlikely with that asking price - a prime mountain Cabernet from an excellent vintage, made by the famed 100 point winemaker lauded per Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate as making “full-throttle, ultra-ripe Napa Valley Cabernets that reflect their maker’s personality and have earned their place as part of the Valley’s culture for their exuberance and bold, hedonistic flavors?”
